Ahh, the smell of yarn in the mornin'

I have, once again, signed myself up to knit too much.

I ended up having to start a scarf all over because I decided I didn't like my yarn choice. Here is the new scarf

And I finished a super soft baby blanket for a friend

Scarf diddly arf!

I have been SUPER crafty lately. To the point of boasting, super crafty.

First, I've nearly finished Athena's scarf. I'm waiting to hear back about the length.
100_4741

I've started on a fishtail lace scarf for one of her daughter's. They are both getting the same pattern, just different colors.
100_4738

In other crafty news, I made the yard all Halloween-ie (hehe)
100_4718

I made the gravestones with styrofoam, paint and a wood burning tool. Rock on, rock on!

Knit, knit, knit all day long

More finished projects. Well, more finished than before. I sent out Heather's dog's sweaters and BJ's golf club covers last week. Finally.

Another finished dog sweater.
100_4630

B's finished covers
100_4648

They look less phallic shaped with the poms.

A la cables
100_4652

And for good measure, I cleaned out the good old craft/other things closet again this weekend. I love how I can walk in there now.
100_4654
I didn't really touch the top shelf, but I need to straighten out the albums. It bothers me that they are crooked. LOL.

Ahoy, matey!

Still been working on the dog sweaters. We'll see if I can't use up that ol' acrylic stash.

Bonkers is none too pleased to be modeling Sandy's sweater
100_4568

Bailey's cabled sweater. I need to get a better picture before I send it out
100_4579

Also, I have have *almost* completed my brother's golf club covers. I just need to add poms
100_4582

Discovered something small about the covers, they're phallic shaped. I'm hoping that poms will fix that, but I have a small fear that it might just make them look ... pleased.
100_4583

Another dog sweater:
100_4614

That one is for Buster. Sandy's brother. It reminds me of the beach. Those old-time men's bathing suits. Hehe.

And one last sweater. Bonk kindly models. Bet you didn't know his inner secret.

Catching up

I finally sent Pam her very overdue baby blanket. Woohoo!

I'm currently working on dog sweaters. Yes, dog sweaters.

Here is the center cable sweater from Stylish Knits for Dogs. This is my first cable project. I totally screwed up the first one, but I think I can fix it with simple sewing. Other than that, I think I did a pretty good job.
100_4557

And here, I've subjected the cat to pink and purple sweaters for chihuahuas.
100_4553

The first dog sweater I made was a bit too small for Big Bonkers. He has not been pleased with me the past few days.
100_4542

Anywho, I'm excited that I am done with the blankets. I made a burp cloth and need to finish the Debbie Bliss teddy bear for the baby of a co-worker that Dave works with. I should do that today. I'm not sure when the baby is due.

I suck, I know!

I haven't updated in FOREVER.

Here is Jodie's finished blanket. I was able to give it to her in person while I was home in Massachusetts.

100_4220

She loved it. And I was able to hold her wee little baby. Adorable. Really, he will be a true Irishman.

And here is Pam's blanket. I still haven't sent her it. I'm horrible, I know. But it's still hot in Texas, so I have time.
100_4262

I've been working on various other things. Mom's prayer shawl is finished and in the right hands. I also taught her how to knit, but I don't think she's knitted at all since I left.

Anywho, just a quick update. I'm currently working on the Cuff Bootees from Debbie Bliss Simply Baby. And that's about it!

Tuesday, May 22, 2007

Blah blah blah!

I think I'm finally catching up. Here's my problem: When I run out of things to knit for people, I promise many people knitted things at the same time. This poses a problem as I only have two hands.

Here's Pam's blanket. Her baby was born last Tuesday, but I have a while longer to finish it because it's hot in Texas.
100_4212

I've finished Jodie's blanket (her baby also born on Tuesday). This was taken when I was still working on seaming it up. It's done now, but this is the picture you get for the meantime.
100_4211

Here's Lisa's scarf, she already has it. I tend to forget to take "done" pictures. I swear, I'll take them of the blankets. Lisa requested a pink and brown scarf, so maybe this weekend I'll look for yarn. I've been looking online for wool blends, but I haven't found anything I like.
100_4213

Tracy's cozies
100_4202
She went with the stripey button for the baby blue and no button for the blue/brown cozy.

That's it for now. I did make a cute pair of booties for Jodie. I'll take pictures of the blanket and booties tomorrow.

Been slacking on the bloggage

I take on too many projects at once. Today, I really need to finish Jodie's blanket. It's been knitted forever, but I haven't sewn it up. Every time I do, I decide I don't like the yarn I've sewn it up with and take it all apart.

Here's part of Pam's baby blanket. Pam is having her baby on Tuesday. I suck!
100_4199

Here is Mum's shawl. This is what I've been working on in bed. There only certain things I can work on while in bed because it's hard knitting by candlelight.
100_4200

I also volunteered to make ipod cozies. I am getting sick of ipod cozies.
100_4198

A big cozy for a little ipod
100_4172

And finally, Lisa will be getting a boucle scarf

I Heart Savannah.

I love Savannah for it's History and beautiful architecture. For it's lovely riverfront shops and bars. Entertainment, nightlife, sure. But most of all, I love Savannah because it has both Michael's and AC Moore. Not to mention Starbucks.

Today, I met up with my RMW buddy and knitting friend Jen, where we ransacked both of these stores. I bought a lot of yarn. A lot.

100_4101

100_4102

I only spent about $30 on yarn. Rexcellent!

But I did brave storms to get to Savannah. No rain, but wind like you wouldn't believe. I ignored the severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado watches (eek, even the storm sirens went off this morning). I'm home in one piece with much more yarn. Yay!

100_4097

I also took apart the dog sweater again. It angers me so. Boooo. I finally get to finish Jodie's blanket and send it off. That makes me happy.

I'll write more later, I'm too fat and happy after dinner to finish updating right now.

Knit dog.

I've started knitting a dog sweater for the RMW auction. Yay! I'm not doing the fun fur, as I think that looks kind of really weird.

It's black with white-ish stripes. The white is kind of an off-white.

100_4088

It will obviously be too small for Kara Lou.
100_4089

So, she will help me knit instead.
100_4091

Yeah, I'm cool and stage my dog like that. And that thing above her eye? A bug bite from about two months ago. Every time it would scab over, she would scratch it. And her pink toe. The vet said she's just discolored. She's weird.

That's it for now.

Chocolate and Strawberries

Finished Mimi's iPod cozy! Yay!

100_4083

The pattern is from SnB. The yarn is left over from other projects. The pink is Caron's Simply soft (I think). The brown was from a box in my parent's house. Hah.

Also started on a baby hat last night. It's cute and red.
100_4076

Yeah, that is WALMART yarn. Isn't it amazing? I have an assload of Walmart yarn. Literally Walmart yarn. Not just yarn I bought at Walmart, but yarn that says "Walmart". I spare no pennies.

I'll be making some baby things for Pam, from RMW. I love baby stuff. I'm thinking a hat or two, some booties and maybe a blanket.

I also was getting super creative while doing laundry last night. I know, me? Creative? Hah! Little mason jars full of oxyclean, borax, and tips!
100_4074

I think it goes with the cutesy minor retro/country store theme. Also keep in mind that I cannot wait until I move into a house with actual laundry room. Laundry themes are fun.
100_4075

And the bad thing about the mason jars? They move when the dryer is on. They ended up in the middle of the dryer. So, I guess I'll need to find something to put them on.

Happy Easter!

The easter bunny was sweet (hah, get it?) to us last night. He left us a lot of sugar to rot our teeth out!
100_4066

Other than that, nothing special today. We didn't do an easter dinner, mainly because it's just us and only one of us likes ham. The other one of "us" has to cook the ham and clean up after the ham is cooked and eaten. So, no big fancy dinner. We had tacos. They were the best Easter tacos ever!

In knitting news, I've nearly completed Shae's super secret birthday present. Well, not nearly, but part. I'll post pictures when it's done and given to her. Can't ruin the surprise!

I also started Mimi's iPod cozy. Fun!
100_4072

I'll finish it tonight, I'm sure. The pattern is from the Stitch n' Bitch. Notice those pretty bamboo needles? From a ginormous set off eBay. Ebay rocks my world.

Sadly, Jodie's blanket has been put on the back burner until I can get out to Michael's. I ran out of yarn. I thought I would have plenty, but apparently not. I only need one more block. Shucks. For now, it's sitting in it's home in the big blue-ish basket.
100_4071

But in happy news, Kelli will finally get her iPod cozy. I just need to sew a button on and she's done and purdy!
100_4073

She'll receive it a few days after her birthday, which is definitely my fault. Seeing how I haven't even sent her giant card yet. I suck!

That'll end it for tonight. Happy Easter!
