I Heart Savannah.

I love Savannah for it's History and beautiful architecture. For it's lovely riverfront shops and bars. Entertainment, nightlife, sure. But most of all, I love Savannah because it has both Michael's and AC Moore. Not to mention Starbucks.

Today, I met up with my RMW buddy and knitting friend Jen, where we ransacked both of these stores. I bought a lot of yarn. A lot.

I only spent about $30 on yarn. Rexcellent!

But I did brave storms to get to Savannah. No rain, but wind like you wouldn't believe. I ignored the severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado watches (eek, even the storm sirens went off this morning). I'm home in one piece with much more yarn. Yay!

I also took apart the dog sweater again. It angers me so. Boooo. I finally get to finish Jodie's blanket and send it off. That makes me happy.

I'll write more later, I'm too fat and happy after dinner to finish updating right now.

Knit dog.

I've started knitting a dog sweater for the RMW auction. Yay! I'm not doing the fun fur, as I think that looks kind of really weird.

It's black with white-ish stripes. The white is kind of an off-white.

It will obviously be too small for Kara Lou.
100_4089

So, she will help me knit instead.
100_4091

Yeah, I'm cool and stage my dog like that. And that thing above her eye? A bug bite from about two months ago. Every time it would scab over, she would scratch it. And her pink toe. The vet said she's just discolored. She's weird.

That's it for now.

Chocolate and Strawberries

Finished Mimi's iPod cozy! Yay!

100_4083

The pattern is from SnB. The yarn is left over from other projects. The pink is Caron's Simply soft (I think). The brown was from a box in my parent's house. Hah.

Also started on a baby hat last night. It's cute and red.
100_4076

Yeah, that is WALMART yarn. Isn't it amazing? I have an assload of Walmart yarn. Literally Walmart yarn. Not just yarn I bought at Walmart, but yarn that says "Walmart". I spare no pennies.

I'll be making some baby things for Pam, from RMW. I love baby stuff. I'm thinking a hat or two, some booties and maybe a blanket.

I also was getting super creative while doing laundry last night. I know, me? Creative? Hah! Little mason jars full of oxyclean, borax, and tips!
100_4074

I think it goes with the cutesy minor retro/country store theme. Also keep in mind that I cannot wait until I move into a house with actual laundry room. Laundry themes are fun.
100_4075

And the bad thing about the mason jars? They move when the dryer is on. They ended up in the middle of the dryer. So, I guess I'll need to find something to put them on.

Happy Easter!

The easter bunny was sweet (hah, get it?) to us last night. He left us a lot of sugar to rot our teeth out!
100_4066

Other than that, nothing special today. We didn't do an easter dinner, mainly because it's just us and only one of us likes ham. The other one of "us" has to cook the ham and clean up after the ham is cooked and eaten. So, no big fancy dinner. We had tacos. They were the best Easter tacos ever!

In knitting news, I've nearly completed Shae's super secret birthday present. Well, not nearly, but part. I'll post pictures when it's done and given to her. Can't ruin the surprise!

I also started Mimi's iPod cozy. Fun!
100_4072

I'll finish it tonight, I'm sure. The pattern is from the Stitch n' Bitch. Notice those pretty bamboo needles? From a ginormous set off eBay. Ebay rocks my world.

Sadly, Jodie's blanket has been put on the back burner until I can get out to Michael's. I ran out of yarn. I thought I would have plenty, but apparently not. I only need one more block. Shucks. For now, it's sitting in it's home in the big blue-ish basket.
100_4071

But in happy news, Kelli will finally get her iPod cozy. I just need to sew a button on and she's done and purdy!
100_4073

She'll receive it a few days after her birthday, which is definitely my fault. Seeing how I haven't even sent her giant card yet. I suck!

That'll end it for tonight. Happy Easter!

Finished mabobs

There comes a time that I dread: sewing up a project, casting it to the side, or shipping it out to whomever it belongs to. But, I do it anyway. It's my least favorite part. I don't want to sew, I want to knit. Anyhoo, here are the finished mabobs.

Jacobe's blanket and booties.
Blanket and booties

My very second knitting project ever. The first was a green blanket, full of holes. Jacobe's blanket is done completely in garter stitch. Fun fun. Both the blanket and booties were made with Caron's Simply Soft.

Victory is mine!

I've conquered the internets! I've set up a knitting/craft/randomness blog. You should be proud. But really, I'm only doing this for me because my memory has gone to mush lately. Yes, I will still try to be witty and sarcastic. Okay, I don't have to try to be sarcastic. Whatever.

Anywho, stay tuned.
